Ride On was the single by the band Jack’s, a song I had originally composed for a former hard rock band I was part of. After joining Jack’s, I suggested using it as a lead track. Uilliam, the bassist and founder of the band, loved the idea, and we quickly headed to the studio to record it.
The song was restructured to extend the verses, which were originally shorter—an idea from Uilliam. One particularly cool thing is that the solo in this song, along with all the guitar parts, was recorded in a single take.
At the end of the track, I came up with the idea of including a bass solo. Uilliam, with his exceptional skill, created a memorable and incredibly musical bass line.
The song Duas Rosas came from a collaboration between lyricist Jhonny Gavazza and me. The lyrics of Duas Rosas were powerful and had the ability to create various atmospheres, something I deeply appreciate.
I composed the beginning on the piano, inspired by the softness conveyed in the initial lines of the lyrics. Next, to create contrast while still keeping the song light, I wrote the saxophone line and had the guitar provide harmony with pedal notes.
The chorus needed to have a more rock vibe, as requested by Jhonny."I want a guitar solo" – those were Jhonny's words. I was against it because there was no natural spot for a solo at that point. That’s when we created the post-chorus instrumental section to allow the guitar solo to fit in naturally.
The song ended up gaining a new section after the solo, heavier and faster. The final chorus, which was initially meant to follow the first one, became quicker and more dynamic.
